| Prophesying this is a magical community set within the wizarding world of harry potter. the canon lore we accept includes the books, movies, games and pottermore. (the cursed child play and script are excluded.) we welcome any new inventions, jobs, occupations, spells and utilities, as well as any form of branching out from the author's bigotry. creativity is welcome and encouraged! if you are unsure if your ideas will fit, please use the dropbox and/or members' post and we can discuss. If you are interested in joining us but are unfamiliar with the universe, do not be intimidated! we are more than willing to help out. just visit the dropbox. as a member of this group of writers, your creativity can take you whereever you want to go. dramatic stories, intriguing plots? go for it. if you come up with an idea that could involve the entire community, please contact us and we'll try our best to help implement it. despite the magical circumstances, we do expect a bit of adherence to realism. for example, pregnancies should take nine months. your character's actions should face the appropriate consequences. if you have an exception, question, or concern you would like to run by the mods, please feel free to drop us a comment. Basics this community is meant to foster a welcoming, fun place for you to plot and write. please include old and new characters as much as possible. stay in your lane, scroll past what irks you, don't cross the ic/ooc line, and come to the mods for any assistance in conflict that can't be resolved between players and needs mediation. we encourage growth and development for all characters and strive to provide an environment in which to do so and will gladly accept constructive criticism and suggestions. Application your character journals can be ic or ooc, so long as they don't have underscores or numbers. your journals are required to have two backdated posts: one in character and one out of character. we strongly encourage you to use the journal resources posted. We reserve the right to reject characters we do not believe are a good fit for this community. your ooc post should have the following information included: the character's full name, played-by, occupation, and extra abilities, if applicable. While we don’t need your character’s entire biography, we do ask that you include a blurb at least 200 words long. please feel free to expand on this as much as you like, before or after you have been added. Intros should be posted within 72 hours of acceptance and the majority of comments should be replied to within three days' time. Failure to intro or reply to comments on one's intro will result in removal. Removals will be done on the last day of each month or as soon as possible. Mid month removals will also take place on the 15th for any journal with a friends list out of date. Played Bys should not be five years older or younger than your character’s age. Exceptions will be made for characters such as vampires. We do not currently have a character cap but ask that you remain realistic about how many you undertake. Activity Our minimum update requirement is two posts per month, but more are certainly encouraged. We ask that one be interactive and one be a character development post--this can include things like mood boards, narratives, journal pages or anything else you feel enhances your understanding of your character. We also will accept 5+ comments on any interactive post or participation in a public scene or ooc plot post, with at least 5 replies, to be counted as your interactive activity. All entries and comments should be linked to the activity check post by 8pm est on the last day of the month. extensions will be granted on a case-by-case basis. If you are struggling to stay active, please approach the mods for a hiatus, if needed. we appreciate engagement in the community over shallow posting, and would like to encourage the former. Parchments Characters stay in contact with magically charmed parchment books--tese are readily available and completely customizable with charms and spells. These should be used for all updates, with the exception of introductions, which should be posted in illusories. Parchments are like customs and should be used as such. Muggle Technology & Pop Culture In an effort to facilitate a variety of updates, we encourage writers to make reference to muggle technology and pop culture at their own discretion. For example, it is your choice whether or not your character owns a mobile phone or has never watched tv. We do not want to limit those who would like to include some more muggle elements into their character’s life, so feel free to post playlists and ask a character what their favourite film is. in addition, spellogram will be the magical equivalent of instagram and can be used for interactive updates. Extras The mods will post news updates, challenges, single and multi character plots, game wide plots, monthly opt-ins, free for alls, prompts and more in whizzbee. We aim to keep things more light and fun, with no overarching plots lasting more than two weeks. All plots will be on a volunteer basis only. The mods will endeavor to post opportunities for volunteering each month in one way or another, i.e.: 24-48 hour plots will sometimes be included randomly that are game wide (for example, everybody’s hair turns a different colour), but you are not required to participate in these. We also accept any plot or event suggestions and we will do our best to include them. All of these opportunities will serve as inspiration and additional fun for your own plots. |
